Letter from the Governor

Good Day and welcome to the United States Virgin Islands!

Our people welcome you. We are a unique place to visit with a variety of islands: St. Croix, St. Thomas, St. John, Water Island and dozens of small cays and islets. Each island is unique. Each offers distinct and memorable experiences.

St. Croix is our largest island and we invite you to discover our historic towns; Christiansted and Frederiksted and discover the quaint shops and Danish Architecture. St Croix has wide open spaces, magnificent vistas and a unique culture.

St. John is almost all National Park and perfectly preserved. It has sparkling turquoise bays and long, lazy beaches. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.

St Thomas is the shopping center of the Caribbean with duty free shopping and a vibrant nightlife. Charlotte Amalie is the capital city of the United States Virgin Islands with its huge natural harbor, bustling port and vistas that will take your breath away. Try our underwater delights, bask on a beach, soak up some sunshine, sail into sunset or hike the trails. You can see why we call this "America's Paradise."

As the Governor of the United States Virgin Islands, I assure you that we will do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. Our people are warm and friendly. We will welcome you in conversation. Don't hesitate to ask people for directions or shopping tips. Our people are eager to help you enjoy your visit.

I extend to you my warmest greetings and hope you enjoy your vacation in the United States Virgin Islands, this year celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Transfer Day!

Sincerely,
Kenneth Mapp
Governor
