The Best Burger, as it is so aptly named, is a perfectly grilled, 1/2lb burger on top of caramelized-onion-truffle aioli, topped with bacon, arugula, tomato and butter-poached Maine lobster on a toasted Amoroso Kaiser roll. In the past year since our opening, Tavern 1844 has become the best kept secret for the place to go for burgers, seafood and beer. What makes this tavern special to the locals, is that it offers luxuries you can't find in other eateries on island like the Maine lobster. This may be due to the owner's desire to bring to St. Croix everything he misses from the States. First on the list? Draft Guinness! Then others followed, like, Draft Smithwicks, Harp, and Yuengling.
