"When the coal pot's cooking, you can smell the food around all the corners in town," says Wala of the King Street, Frederiksted restaurant she has shared with Featha for almost thirty years. "UCA's Kitchen has been around since the 70s with different cooks but always the same food. Everything's prepared with almost totally homegrown, as organically as we can get, and with love. Plates could fill two people." Come here for authentic vegetarian food--ancient cooking with modern style. We only do lunch from 12:30 until everything's finished! Favorites include vegetarian and Indian potato pates, black-eyed peas akkra ball with onion sauce, stew gooseberry & Tamarind, pastas, and local juices including a wonderful chlorophyll & ginger-lime mix.
