St. Croix This Week / Beaches

St. Croix is blessed with a large number of wonderful beaches. Visitors come here to see the beauty of our natural resources, the crystal blue waters, the colorful fish and corals, not to mention the wonderful climate. All beaches in the U.S. Virgin Islands are open to the public, although access through private property may have restrictions.
East of Christiansted at the hotel. Non-guest fee for use of beach and changing
facilities. Towels for hotel guests only. Watersports, snorkeling, swimming, beach bar (Island Map #88).
Tour boats offer a variety of ways to get to this island off St. Croix’s northeast shore, with Turtle Beach and underwater trail. Picnic tables, great snorkeling, shade, hiking trail, limited facilities. Island Map #60
North Shore on Route 80. Sandy beach, shade and snorkeling off the reefs near shore. Full service dive center, kayaking, hotels, beach bars and restaurants nearby, nice swimming between here and Carambola, although waves can get a little choppy in winter.

Davis Bay on the North Shore. Spectacular setting, bar, restaurant, hammocks and chairs (Island Map #33).
East of Christiansted on Route 82. Restaurant and bar at Chenay Bay Beach Resort; also sandy beach, hammocks, beach chair and kayak rentals (Island Map #94).
The site of the 1493 landing of Columbus at Salt River. Access by the road to the left of the marina. Minimal facilities. Managed by the Territiorial State Historic Preservation Office – DPNR and is within the boundaries of the National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve. Island Map #106
Public beach at the end of Route 82. Recently renovated changing rooms; bathrooms;
limited facilities (Island Map #164).
East of Christiansted on South Shore, Route 60. Restaurant, bar. (Island Map #105).
Wide, white sandy beach with picnic tables, great snorkeling, south of Frederiksted (Island Map #14).
North of Frederiksted, beach bar, traditional Sunday hang-out spot for live music and volleyball. Good swimming. (Island Map #21)
East End, at Teague Bay on Route 82. Restaurant and bar (Island Map #100).
Nice sandy beach with shade south of Frederiksted with watersports available, great snorkeling and swimming. Cottages By The Sea and the Beachside Cafe restaurant
are both available. (Island Map #14)

North of Frederiksted on Route 63. One mile of beach. (Island Map #9).
The territory’s first marine park encompasses approximately 60 square miles of coastal and marine habitats -providing a great opportunity to experience the natural wonders of St. Croix.
