Un Amore

Un AmoreAlthough Un Amore may be a new restaurant the couple behind it has together over 50 years of feeding people on St. Croix. Before combining forces, Frank & Katherine Pugliese worked at some of the finest and most infamous restaurants like Serendipity, Kings Alley, Villa Madeline, Stixx and many more before meeting at Tutto Bene. “Really our roots are at Tutto Bene, not only did we meet and fall in love there we had a great mentor, Tony Cerutto who nurtured our passion for Italian cuisine he taught us hospitality and restaurant ethics”.
In 1997 they opened the legendary Bacchus, home of many happy nights playing pool, drinking wine and being decedent. In 2009 they went for a more casual beach theme and opened eat@canebay. Combining great food and hospitality with the beach bar vibe. In 2014 they assisted in opening Zion Modern Kitchen, before opening Un Amore in late January 2016.
“There was a need for Italian food and we felt compelled to fill that void. I have always loved cooking Italian food, my go to comfort food is a big pot of Puttanesca. Right before opening we spent three weeks in Italy really connecting with the Neapolitan cuisine, they love eggplant; one of the things we are unabundant with.” Un Amore makes many of the pastas by hand as well as ricotta and mozzarella cheeses. The pizzas are very close to what you find in the Campania region not thin crust not thick crust just perfect!
Located in the heart of 5 Corners, this unassuming space will charm you once inside. Most guests dine in but many rely on Un Amore to nourish their families and just call in their orders. Specials, pizza of the moment (POTM) and menus can be found online.
