Having the opportunity and filling the need for a local, cultural style of preparing meals, Burton Petersen, and his wife Deborah opened Cast Iron Pot, on the Northside Road in La Grande Princesse on June 26th, 2015, with a Grand Opening Party!
Born and raised on St. Croix and married 31 years, they got the whole family involved! Because of the way and style of their grandparents cooking and to preserve that tradition, they chose the name, Cast Iron Pot. Offering eat in or take out, the menu glorifies local foods with a modern twist-the Best Sellers being Pot Fish and Fungi, Conch in Butter Sauce, Salt Fish and Dumpling, Stew Oxtail and Port Chops. Mouth-watering Coconut Bread Pudding is a favorite for dessert!
They still operate Top Class Catering and do a variety of events working with government agencies, Hovensa, WAPA, UVI, and many private parties, here at the restaurant or on location, for 2 to 500 people. Burton and Deborah have attended many different catering and restaurant workshops and seminars and have taught cooking and hospitality classes for many years.

Open Tuesday through Thursday, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday, where reservations at Cast Iron Pot are advised, the hours are 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. Visa and MasterCard accepted.
